Turn 1

The Allies send a fast squadron to the Barents (both Renown and Repulse making there speed rolls), slow battleship squadrons to the North Sea and South Atlantic, and the two heavy battleships (Nelson and Rodney) to the North Atlantic. The German fleet goes to the North Atlantic (except for the Lutzow and 3 U-boats that patrol the Baltic Sea), but the Admiral Scheer experiences mechanical trouble and returns to German.

The Luftwaffe fails to find its targets in the Barents, but Bomber Command sinks the Andrea Doria and disables the Pola in the Mediterranean. The Nelson and Rodney sink the Graf Spee and disable the Scharnhorst (with 3 points of damage). The return volley from the German battlecruisers sinks both of the British heavy battleships. At the end of turn 1, the surviving German ships return to Germany, satisfied with a 3 POC lead.

North Atlantic: 5-5-3 Nelson (sunk), 5-5-3 Rodney (sunk), 3+5-7 Gneisenau, 3+5-7 Scharnhorst (3d; disabled to Germany), 2+2-5 Admiral Scheer (SR=5; returns to Germany), 2+2-5 Graf Spee (SR=3; sunk), 1+2-7 Admiral Hipper, 1+2-7 Blucher

Turn 2

The Allies return to the Barents and North seas in force, leaving a token force in North Atlantic and sending 4 battleships and a carrier to the South Atlantic to keep the Italian cruisers bottled up in the Mediterranean. The German surface fleet shows the flag in the Baltic while the Scharnhorst is repaired in Germany. Four U-Boats appear off the coast of North America and 3 are promptly sunk by the Eagle and its 2 escorting cruisers. The lone surviving U-Boat only manages to fire a dud torpedoe at the Eagle. Both Bomber Command and the Luftwaffe are inneffective this turn, as only a disable result is achieved against the Hood. The POC total remains at +3 in favor of the Axis, but the German submarine fleet is temporarily crippled.

Italy: 4-3-5 Guilio Cesare, 1-1-7 Fiume, 1-1-7 Gorizia

Turn 3

On turn 3 the Allies return to the North Sea and Barents Sea in strength. Two carriers protect the convoy in the North Atlantic against the depleted U-boat wolfpack. Four British battleships keep the Italian cruisers out of the South Atlantic. The Marat leaves Leningrad and is met by two U-boats in the Baltic Sea. The entire German surface fleet sorties into the Barents Sea supported by Luftwaffe.

The U-boats in the Baltic put 1 point of damage on the Marat and disable it to port. Allied airstrikes in Italy put 1 point of damage on the Guilio Cesare. In the Baltic the Ark Royal's airstrikes disable the Scharnhorst and sink the Admiral Scheer. The Luftwaffe disables the Prince of Wales to Russia.

During the first round of surface combat in the Barents, Tirpitz, Lutzow, and Admiral Hipper are disabled by the initial Allied volley, while Gneisenau and Prinz Eugen are sunk. Blucher also takes 1 point of damage, leaving only the Bismarck unscathed.

The German return fire sinks the Duke of York, Hood, and Devonshire. The King George V takes 4 points of damage and is disabled. The Repulse and Cumberland are also disabled to Russia.

During the second round the Bismarck is disabled by four of the British cruisers, but the Blucher avoids the fire of two cruisers. In return the Bismarck destroys the Dorsetshire, but the Blucher misses the Exeter.

During the third round the five British cruisers sink the German cruiser, while Blucher again misses the Exeter.

The Allies successfully defend the Barents and earn 4 POC, while the Axis only controls the Mediterranean for 2 POC. The Allies gain 2 POC this turn and the cumulative POC margin is reduced to only 1 POC in favor of the Axis.

Turn 4

At the start of turn 4, the U.S. Navy sends the Washington, Texas, and Augusta into the North Atlantic to protect Convoy 2B. Both Russian ships decide to stay in port and the Marat's damage is repaired.

The Allies again deploy in strength to the Barents Sea, North Sea, and South Atlantic. Only the Eagle is sent to the North Atlantic to help the three American ships protect Convoy 2B against the U-boat wolfpack.

The German surface fleet is sent to the Baltic for gunnery practice. It cannot afford to lose four more ships as it did last turn. It will be up to the Luftwaffe and the U-boats to stop the convoys.

Allied ASW in the North Atlantic continues to be deadly, sinking two U-boats and disabling the other two. On the other hand, Bomber Command is unable to hit any of the Italian ships. The Luftwaffe manages to disable Convoy 1A back to the United States.

The Allies control the Barents Sea, North Sea, North Atlantic, and South Atlantic for 4 POC. The Axis control the Baltic and Mediterranean for 3 POC. The running total is now back to zero POC.

Turn 5

At the start of turn 5, the U.S. Navy adds the Tuscaloosa and Wichita to the fleet protecting Convoy 1A as it starts its second trip across the Atlantic. The Russian ships decide to stay in port.

The Allies again deploy in strength to the Barents Sea, North Sea, and South Atlantic. Only the Eagle is sent to the North Atlantic to help the five American ships protect Convoy 2B against the U-boat wolfpack.

The German surface fleet is again sent to the Baltic for gunnery practice. The U-boat wolfpack also goes to the Baltic to practice avoiding depth charges. It will up to the Luftwaffe to stop the convoy this turn.

Bomber Command sinks both Italian cruisers that stayed in port, while the Luftwaffe only manages to disable the Ark Royal to Russia.

At the end of turn 5, the Allies lead by 4 POC as Convoy 2B reaches Russia.

Turn 6

At the start of turn 6, both the Marat and the Okt. Revolutia raise steam and sortie out into the Baltic. The last U.S. Navy ship, the New York, stays in port.

The Allies again deploy in strength to the Barents Sea and North Sea with 4 aircraft carriers protecting the North Sea against a rejuvenated U-boat wolfpack (finally 7 strong). Only the Eagle and 3 battleships are in the South Atlantic now that the Italian cruiser force has been reduced in half. Convoy 3C is protected by 5 U.S. ships in the North Atlantic.

The German surface fleet is again sent to the Baltic for gunnery practice. The U-boat wolfpack goes to the North Atlantic to sink the 3rd convoy. The Luftwaffe tries to stop Convoy 1A again.

Bomber Command disables one of the Italian battleships, and the Luftwaffe disables the King George V back to Russia.

Allied ASW only sinks 1 of the U-boats and disables 3 others. The remaining 3 U-boats disable Convoy 3C back to the United States. Practicing in the Baltic last turn helped.

In the Baltic the Graf Zeppelin's airstrikes miss. In surface combat the Marat is sunk, but the Okt. Revolutia is disabled to Leningrad with 3 points of damage. The attacks by the Russian ships disable the Lutzow and inflict 1 point of damage on the Admiral Hipper.

At the end of turn 6, the Allies lead by 7 POC as Convoy 1A reaches Russia.

Turn 7

At the start of turn 7, the heavily damaged Okt. Revolutia stays in port and repairs 1 point of damage. The last U.S. Navy ship, the New York, steams into the North Atlantic.

The Allies again deploy in strength to the Barents Sea and North Sea with 4 aircraft carriers protecting the North Sea against the full-strength U-boat wolfpack. Only the Eagle and 3 battleships are in the South Atlantic since the Italian cruiser force was reduced in half on turn 5. Convoy 3C is protected by all 6 U.S. ships in the North Atlantic.

The German surface fleet, except for the Admiral Hipper which repairs its damage in port, is sent to the Baltic for gunnery practice. The U-boat wolfpack goes to the South Atlantic this turn to help the 2 Italian cruisers break out into the Atlantic (better late than never). The Luftwaffe tries to sink the aircraft carriers in the Barents Sea.

Bomber Command misses the Admiral Hipper in dry dock in Germany. The British ASW is not very effective as only 1 U-boat is disabled. The U-boats only hit the Warspite (inflicting 4 points of damage). The Luftwaffe disables the King George V and the Formidable to Russia.

The Eagle's airstrike misses, and during the first round of surface combat the Zara inflicts 2 points of damage on the Valiant while all of the British shots miss. During the second round the Zara takes 1 point of damage and the Pola is disabled to the Neutral Port as is the Malaya. During the third round the Zara is sunk.
