Turn 1

The game is played even with Bruce Monnin playing the Allies. Bruce attempted a Barents on 1 variation, and lost the battle in the Barents.

Axis +2 POC after turn 1.

Hmmm... Gneisenau and two cruisers versus Renown and five...
I think not. Enjoy your journey home, whilst I enjoy my PoC.

I believe the situation is:
Axis: 4 (Barents, Med)
Allies: 2 (North Sea, North Atlantic)
-which makes it +2 my way.

On to turn 2...
Dave

Turn 2

Well, after some subatantial blood letting, the turn ends. Rodney and Revenge have slipped to the bottom, whilst Nelson and Royal Oak slip back to Scapa Flow with D3. All the German damaged and disabled boats will head for Germany, but I'll take a gamble and send my two cruisers searching for an oiler.

PoC wise, I get 5 (N Atlantic & Med), whilst you get 2 (North Sea & Barents). So that's a net total of +5 PoC for the Axis. So, I'm ahead on points, but at the cost of finding myself blockaded in port. Oh well, you can't have everything...Refuelling rolls coming right up, Dave.

Turn 3

On turn 3, the Axis once again wrestled control of the Barents Sea away from the Allies while the subs broke control of the South Atlantic.

Allied Control: North Sea, North Atlantic: 2 POC
Axis Control: Barents, Baltic and Mediterranean Seas: 5 POC
Axis gain 3 POC for the turn.
Axis lead by 8 POC after turn 3.

Turn 4

On turn 4 the blockade is set in the North and Barents Seas, but the Axis LBA disables Convoy 1A. The Axis control the Baltic and Med, while the Allies control the Barents, North and North Atlantic. Neither side gains any POC for the turn, leaving the match at +8 POC Axis.

Turn 5

On turn 5 the Axis blockade continues to hold the North and Barents Seas, but the Axis LBA again disables a convoy in the Barents. The Prinz Eugen and the Italian cruisers are repulsed in a short but bloody encounter in the South Atlantic. The Axis control the Baltic and Med, while the Allies control the Barents, North and North Atlantic. Neither side gains any POC for the turn, still leaving the match at +8 POC Axis.

Turn 6

On turn 6 the Axis blockade is broken by subs in the North Sea, and the Axis LBA disables its third straight convoy in the Barents. The Axis control the Baltic and Med, while the Allies control the Barents, North and South Atlantic. Neither side gains any POC for the turn, still leaving the match at +8 POC Axis.

Turn 7

The Allies finally get a convoy through to Russia, but the gain is largely nullified when the Germans win big in a battle in the North Sea. The Axis control North and Mediterranean Seas for a total of 5 POC. The Allies control the North Atlantic, South Atlantic and Barents and score a convoy for a total of 6 POC. The Allies gain 1 POC on turn 7, but the Axis lead is still 7 POC. Since the Allies can only realistically gain 5 POC on the last turn, they decide the time is right to graciously concede.
