Italian defection rolls result in Roma and Giulio Cesare remaining loyal;

Vittorio Veneto, Impero and Zara defecting to the Allies; and Littorio and

Conte di Cavour scuttling.

Allied deployment:

North Sea - 5x443, Anson, Formidable

Barents - Victorious, Illustrious, Howe, DoY(sr=1), Renown(sr=4)

North Atlantic - All US ships and Convoy 3C

South Atlantic - 2x553, PoW, 2x117, Eagle

Med - LBA, Vittorio Veneto, Impero, Zara

The battered but as yet still intact German fleet heads to the North

Atlantic:

Baltic - Bismarck[6]

Med - LBA, Roma, Giulio Cesare

North Atlantic - 7 U-boats, Tirpitz, Graf Spee, Blucher, Admiral Hipper,

Prinz Eugen[1], Graf Zeppelin (the rest failed speed rolls)

Allied ASW sinks 3 U-boats and disables another, and return fire misses.

Allied LBA puts 5 points of damage into Roma, while Axis LBA puts 1 point of

damage into Vittorio Veneto. Graf Zeppelin disables Washington. In the

Med, the defecting Italians sink Roma and disable Giulio Cesare, rendering

Axis return fire moot. In the North Atlantic the trend of previous turns is

reversed, as the US ships sink Graf Spee, Blucher and Graf Zeppelin and the

Germans fail to sink a single Allied ship. But the Germans do disable the

entire US fleet and Convoy 3C over 3 rounds of combat, controlling the North

Atlantic and winning the match.

Hipper[1]
